Mrs. Buffie's Kindergarten Class
Welcome to Kindergarten. My name is Sara Buffie and I've been an elementary school teacher for five years. These five wonderful years have been spent teaching Kindergarten here at Cowern Elementary. This is an exciting year for our kindergarten students. Kindergarten is a big step in your child's life. You will notice many changes occurring both socially and academically. We've planned many challenging and fun activities that will help our students meet their academic goals.
Believe it or not first grade is just around the corner. Please help your child prepare for that big day. Please practice: - Blending sounds to make new words
- High frequency words
- Counting by 1's, 5's and 10's to 110
- Counting by 2's to 22
- Counting backwards
- Simple addition and subtraction
- Identifying coins and their value
- Writing their first and last names
- Tying shoes (skip the velcro) and zipping jackets
